Well I am pleased to say that the great people in the forums here have got me going with my 386 BB … THANKS! Er but now I seem to have another problem, I have installed a 1mb SVGA (Trident 8900C) card but cannot seem to get it going. I have a switch box set up to switch from the flicker fixer output to the SVGA card output. But there is nothing on the SVGA output to view. I have changed setup to give me EGA/VGA. If I try to change the PC prefs so that both emulations are off the BB bleeps madly at me!…and wont start up, if I leave the cga emulation on, that is exactly what I get but still nothing from the SVGA. But on running Syschk its says the its using Trident BIOS in CGA mode!!. HELP! Sorry for all the questions, but this PC thing is a whole new adventure and I dont understand the manuals when I read em :-(. I did manage to get the 1.44 floppy working!! and it formats too ;-), so I must be learning. Paul Lakey (UK) Enjoying AutoPilot!

Ahhh just seen this message… What you need to do is: In PC Prefs – set Monochrome Display Adapter Emulation to Disabled set CGA Emulation to Disabled set Default BB Video Mode to Mono In BBSetup – set VGA/EGA Shadow to Disabled Save that, double click on PC Mono, do a PC reset, click in PC Mono window to make sure it is active and then flick your switchbox. You should now have your vga display. If the BB still bleeps and won't boot then something else is wrong somewhere and we'll have to go through things from the top. Let me know what happens. Andrew.

Andrew, I have set things up as you suggest but still no go, when I boot the Amiga the BB give 4 long bleeps, when I click on PC Mono I get a screen full of garbage and if I do a PC Reset I get another 4 bleeps. The Graphics card itself I have tried in both an 8 bit and 16 bit slot with autodetect enabled and disabled in all configurations the same thing happens. I only have 1 meg on the BB until later this week and I seem to have to have Janus shadowed or the BB wont boot up properly in any mode, which then leaves only 640k for the BB. Would this have any effect?, does'nt seem possible that anything can run in 640k after having 11 meg on the Amiga side if things. I have 2 utility disks with the SVGA, my understanding is that I dont have to install any drivers just to get the thing booted up, is that right?. I realise that I will have to install Windows drivers etc if I ever get that far :-). Thanks for your help Paul Paul Lakey (UK) Enjoying AutoPilot!
