Rich, I have an inquiry about a two year old CDROM. It is a Sony CDU 510 – 12
with a CDBoard – 940 (neither on eof which is no longer made). Do you have or
know where I can find performance statistics on this particular drive. I want
to know if this is a dinosaur that should be put to pasture. I intend to use
CD's mostly for data access, encyclopedias etc…no games. Thanx, Karl

I don't have any data on this machine, and – unless one of our other fearless
members here has some – Sony may be your best source. In general, though, if
you are not looking to play video, games etc., older drives should be quite
serviceable for basic data retrieval.
