I'm just joining this forum. I have a problem playing the sound from the Microsoft Multimedia Bethoven's Ninth Symphony although I do get a picture and the windows buttons function. What have I forgotten to do? The SyDOS external personal CD is attached to a Dell 486sx/25 computer which has installed in it the Spectrum Pro Audio 16 sound card. Everything has been installed just as it comes out of the package, i.e. no custom installation or short cuts with the software. This system does play the sound and pictures from Automap, so at least part of it is connected properly. Thank you if you can help me solve this problem. Loretta

Microsoft's Multimedia Beethoven has Red Book Audio. This means that you need to connect the earphone output of your external drive to a suitable input of your sound card. You can get a suitable cable from Radio Shack. I use a Sound Blaster Pro card, and I connect into the second socket from the top. That may be the 'line' input, but I cannot remember for sure. Your sound card is different, but the same idea should work. I called Microsoft when my CD did not work, and was very surprised to find how helpful and informed they were ( perhaps this problem is not unusual ! )
