You should check with Adaptec tech support to make sure, but I don't believe
any of the NEC portable drives work with the 1540 series cards due to hardware
problems.
The CDR-38 MAY work though, in the SCSI-2 mode. Adaptec sells their EZ-SCSI
software, which supports NEC drives.
Thanks for your advice. Its a shame that an NEC device will not work with such
an industry standard SCSI card. Still, I will call support to get the full
details.
