Don't find anything formal here, but I assume from a thread in this section
that you represent Future Domain Corp.? If so:
Just got a TMC850 kit, BIOS is 8.2, and the PowerSCSI! software kit; CD is a
TEAC CD-50, which I realize is not on the 'compatible drives' list. Would you
expect that it should work though? Or do you know for a fact that it won't?
The BIOS finds the drive when it scans at powerup; the CAM driver and ASPI
Interface will both load if they're in the config.sys; but the FDCD.SYS device
driver pauses for about 45 seconds, then reports "Driver not needed. No drives
needing support.", irregardless of interrupt, memory address, and existence of
other device drivers. TIA.

Todd,
Get some sleep. The FDC driver does wil not attempt to support the TEAC drive
because the "Inquiry Data" string returned by the drive does not match the
lookup table that the driver uses. I suggest that you contact either Corel or
TEAC for an ASPI or CAM driver.

I'd expect to get quite a run around from TEAC, but the Corel option is
interesting. I've seen a lot about the CorelSCSI package, but never used it
for anything. Is it somewhat hardware independent, i.e. referring more to the
controllers? In other words, Corel will address the FDC controllers, so as
long as it can talk to the drive, it should handle it? I'll have to check that
out. Thanks.

You can also get the Trantor SCSIworks! package, which will work with PowerSCSI
and supports the CD50 Teac drive. It lists for $79, and includes support for
HD's, HP ScanJets, Tape and more as well as the universal CD-ROM drivers.
