Does the Pioneer DRM-600 need a special MSCDEX?

David: There is only one MSCDEX (in multiple versions). The Pioneer drive, like all different vendors' drives, requires its own unique software driver in addition to MSCDEX. Best – Rich Bowers

I understand the config.sys part of it, but i have gotten the impression talking to various techs that there could also be a device-specific mscdex. maybe they were just trying to simplyfy the config.sys driver part. Is pioneer here in some capacity?
