I read a glowing review of Encarta in CD.ROM WORLD, and wonder if anyone could give me a futher assessment. Is it worth the $390.00 or so Canadian dollars I would have to pay for it? Basically I'm looking for a good all round reference work for my kids who are in grades 4 & 7, as well as a current reference for my own interests in science, technology, and computer networking. Thanks, DMc

Donald: You might try posting your question in the Titles section (Section 2) of the CDROM Forum (go cdrom). There is a larger discussion about general titles there! Best – Rich Bowers

Donald, do You know the "Multimedia Encyclopedia" by The Software Toolworks? I have bought it here in Germany for somewhat around 150 or 200 German Marks (sorry, I don't know that in Canadian $, but at least it is much cheaper than 390$, isn't it?). The cover says: "The definitive 21 volume eccycl…." "…1992 Edition which boasts more than 33,000 articles including 7,000 new or updated articles. More than 3,000 full-color and black and white photographs and illustrations reinforce the …" It has also some sound on it, but I did only listen to J.F.Kennedys speech, some music instruments and cannot tell about other sounds (I dont have any soundcard, just earphones connected to my CD-ROM drive).
