Anyone have any experience with the Supra Turbo28 accelerator for the 2000? I
want to get some kind of accelerator, but my budget is small. The Supra seems
reasonably priced. I'm using productivity apps and some light graphics (no 3-D
animations). I would like to use the processor slot, not replace the 68000 on
the motherboard. (Incidentally, if I get something like the Turbo28, I'm still
able to add a bridgeboard later, correct?)
Any and all comments appreciated!

You might try looking at the used market if your budget is tight. I
just picked up an A2630 for $200. That's only a couple more bucks than
the Turbo28.

We had a SupraTurbo28 accelerator in one of our A2000's for about 3 weeks,
accelerating it by a factor of about 3, until it burned out one day.
The system locked up and would not reboot. Went to the store and they
found the only problem with the system was a dead SupraTurbo. Removed it,
and it ran fine.
They lent us a CBM A2630 until a replacement became available, and the
speed of the "Real" accelerator is so seductive that we're gonna take a
store credit for the dead SupraTurbo towards the price of an 030 board.

Depends a lot on how discounted the 2630 is — maybe only a couple of
hundred, new.
What we're using now is only a loaner.
