I am new to all this… I have a Video Blaster Card, Video for windows and Animator. Can anyone guide me towards the process involved in capturing video to fli files. With all these manuals I can only figure out bits and pieces. Can it be done? If so how. I can convert "fli" to video for windows, but not visa-vera. Any advice is most welcome. Thanks …. Gary

Gary, I like your question! Let me add to it: Is there/will there be an AVI or AVS to .flc converter? (w/ all the every nth frame, etc. controls, of course!) Seriously though, we've setup/sold/trained a ton of Video for Windows, a fair number to our good friends at Microsoft. While picture quality is still an issue, I'm sure it will improve with latter versions, so, it might be time for a new entry under Aniconv?! Dan K.

First, capture in the usual way to an .avi file. Then use VidEdit's File/Extract menu choice. In the resulting dialog box, use the list box at the lower left corner to select DIB Sequence as the file type. Enter a base filename. In Animator Pro, use POCO/Numpics menu to read in the numbered file sequence. Version 1.3 of APro will read the .bmp files directly; earlier versions require you to convert to something APro can digest. I have uploaded a file, vidani.zip, to lib 6 of the Multimedia forum, that explains this in greater detail. My book, PC Video Madness, goes into still greater details on this process. Ron
