At the price of an A570 today, is there anything to lose. Surely th A500 expansion slot and the ZorroII are reasonably compatible. We can buy expanders to make ZorroII cards work on an A500, and in Europe there are memory cards for the A500 that "can be moved to your A2000 if you upgrade". So for a couple of hundred it may be worth a try. If I took the A500 connector off, do you think it could be used via a ribbon cable? Dave

You can buy a SCSI CD-ROM for a couple hundred, so why would you want to try? Dale Larson – An Amiga Software Engineer with some time on his hands.

If it could be done, you could run CDTV-specific titles on the 2000. Jim

I'm no hardware guru, but from a look at the 500's buss vs the 2000's, I think it would be possible with some gotchas. If I figure it right, the guts o' the 570 wouldn't pass the autoconfig to the next slot. So it would have to be the last card in the machine. I left it there, because I realized I could get a SCSI drive & one of the drivers for better functionality. I wouldn't try a ribbon cable, what I had in mind was one of the Zorro II prototyping cards. I figured on mounting the logic card from the 570 on the proto card, then hand wiring the connections. Jim
