Hmmmm…
I should let you know I'm not an MPW expert by any means. Maybe an MPW-guru
around here'll be more help than I.
However, the problems you're describing don't sound familiar. Are you using an
old version of MPW? Which compiler are you using?
I know that when I've used MPW, the Build menu command (key Command-B)
automatically switches to the Worksheet–I never got compiler output in a
source window accidently.
Also, I'm pretty sure that errors in include files got reported as being in the
right file–executing that line got me to the right place.
Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm also a long-time DOS/Windows developer
making his return to the Mac, and I'm also a little surprised at the desolation
of the tools on the Mac. Plus, some of the Mac-only kids don't seem to know
what they're missing.
Oh–you might want to take a look at an editor called ObjectMaster (v2.0).
It's made by ACI US, makers of the 4th Dimension database (they have a forum on
CIS), and you can request a free demo version. It looks really slick and I
think they have a way of integrating with MPW. Only problem is, it's expensive
($600, I think).
