Any pure text document can be opened up with TeachText. Just make sure the
file type is TEXT and the creator is ttxt. (Case is significant.)
Simple graphics that take up entire lines can be inserted. The easiest way to
do this is a program called TeachTextMaker; I suspect it's in either MACSYS or
MACAP — GO MACFF can locate it for you, I'm sure.
You might want to look at DocMaker instead. It provides insertion of graphics,
styled text (TeachText is limited to 12-point Geneva, or whatever the user's
application font happens to be), chapters, AND produces an application that
will "read itself" … no other software required.
As for bypassing dialog boxes, it could be done, but it's NOT a wise thing to
do at all. There really is no "default setup" that you can create that will
work for ALL printers. You might set up a print record that will do nicely for
an ImageWriter II, but will come out completely wrong on a StyleWriter. A
print record tailored to a LaserWriter will probably not work well for someone
using Print2PICT. Forget this.
