>Are the support folks 'C' literate? They have been the few times I have called. Some points to remember: 1. It is much easier to find bugs in C code when you are looking at it, as opposed to having someone tell you what they wrote. Did you fax the tech support person the code snippet? 2. I consider myself C literate (I have been using it full time for 2 years, and part time for three years before that), but I would have to look at K&R before I could handle any bit-field questions. Hey Symantec, do all your tech people have copies of _The C Programming Language_ nearby? —Greg

<<< Hey Symantec, do all your tech people have copies of _The C Programming Language_ nearby? >>> At our desks, in the lunchroom, in the restrooms, at home by our beds, stapled to our heads… (If the ARM comes out in paperback, we'll staple it, too — fortunately IM 1-6 is on disk in THINK Ref!) However, we spend so much time online that we don't have much of a chance to actually read the stuff… 😉 Kevin Irlen Symantec Languages Support
