>Are the support folks 'C' literate?
They have been the few times I have called. Some points to remember:
1. It is much easier to find bugs in C code when you are looking at it, as
opposed to having someone tell you what they wrote. Did you fax the tech
support person the code snippet?
2. I consider myself C literate (I have been using it full time for 2 years,
and part time for three years before that), but I would have to look at K&R
before I could handle any bit-field questions. Hey Symantec, do all your tech
people have copies of _The C Programming Language_ nearby?

At our desks, in the lunchroom, in the restrooms, at home by our beds, stapled
to our heads…
(If the ARM comes out in paperback, we'll staple it, too — fortunately IM 1-6
is on disk in THINK Ref!)
However, we spend so much time online that we don't have much of a chance to
actually read the stuff… 😉
