Will the new Symantac C++ book support development with a symantac 5.0 C++ compiler. The book looked great at B. Dalton, but i was not sure if the programs would compile with 5.0 thanks phil

phil, There was no Symantec C++ 5.0 compiler. Thus, any new books targeted for Symantec C++ would, no doubt, be limited to 6.0. There are some books dealing with THINK C 5.0, which was a C compiler with object-oriented extensions similar to C++. Rich Parker has one, for example. Some of the other Macintosh C books may deal with THINK C's object-orientation as well. (There wasn't any appreciable external change between THINK C 5.0 and THINK C 6.0 … again, note that THINK C 6.0 is not the same compiler as Symantec C++ 6.0.) Joe
