Actually, I've gotten into the habit of including a CD with all the books —
when you are working with multimedia, it's lots better to have tons of storage
space. <g>
No, I won't be at Siggraph; I hate travelling, and I hate the cost of hotels
even more. <g> It would be fun, actually, but authoring isn't as lucrative as
I would like, so I am limited in what I can attend each year.
AVI to FLI? Not without a little effort. None of the capture cards do
320×200, so you'd need to do some cropping or resizing. I generally convert to
bitmaps, and use Animator Pro 1.3 for stuff like that. It doesn't do direct
conversions, but it's not *too* bad to convert using DIB Sequences. <g>

around for a video to .flc solution, I came across WinImages:morph from Black
Belt systems. In addition to allowing still and animation morphs, it will read
in AVI, FLI, FLC, TIF's , GIF's, etc, and save the Morph to BMPs, FLI, FLC,
AVI, TGA……Well you get the idea.
So, for now, the cheapest solution for low-res is Intel's SVR, Vid for Win, and
this Morph thing….."
I just signed on to handle the Blackbelt product…I'll let you know what I
think once I've spent more time in it. So far with the tutorial it's a hoot.
They also use an on-line manual linked with the program.

have to put the money out up front but anyway… thanks for your input. If its
not as lucrative as you would like, I would bet that if you stay with it, its
just a matter of time. Best of luck, will check out your works, as it is good

I think I got the basic idea, however — that it's just a matter of time.
Actually, it must be in the percentages, as my book Multimedia Madness is the
#2 best selling book at Sams, or so I am told. Maybe I need a bigger piece of
the pie??? <g>
