Hi Richard. I don't think Dr. Rose meant that Indy will affect the Amiga,
because they really don't compete. Commodore's most "powerful" machine has a
"loaded" price of around $3000 with monitor, I believe, and a stripped Indy is
at $5K. Moreover, SGI is regarded as a company that makes serious computers
for high powered scientific, creative, and visual applications. Commodore is
now regarded by and large in the U.S. as an invisible maker of innovative
video-compatible multimedia computers, and in Europe as a maker of home
computers that have good games. Not exactly competing viewpoints, I'd say.

Hi Paul,
No his message didn't talk about the Indy and the Amiga. I guess I got the
feeling from the messages, that some consider the Indy the replacement for
the Amiga, and will pick up where the Amiga has failed. I may be wrong,
it's just the impression I received. Since the Indy is aimed at power
Quadra users, I would consider it a replacement for the Quadra. There
is another difference, SGI seems to be very professional about their
business and promoting their product, while CBM doesn't know what good
business sense and promotion means.
