#Backtalk Problems

Hello Again,
As usual, I'm having communication problems or as it was once said "What we
have here is a failure to communicate". I downloaded Backtalk and placed the
appropriate libraries in there proper respective directories as instructed by
the documentation. The problem I'm having is after Backtalk is executing,
almost any selection causes the whole program to lock-up/crash. Is this the
program or my configuration or something else I forgot to do? I'm currently
running an Amiga 2000 with the usual 1Mb of memory (1/2 for graphics and the
rest for applications). What is the problem and why does this program lock up.
I cannot do anything with it and it cost a lot of download time. Help!

I use Backtalk on an A2000 all the time and it works for me, but I've
expanded memory and storage. Just about the only terminal I use other than
AutoPilot.

1 Mb is not usual anymore, but more unusual 🙂
Your A2000 is in need of some expansion memory. 1MB. 512k chip, 512k Fast,
is not really enough these days. What other programs are you running after
launching BT? Does Backtalk function properly without any background
processes running?

Well…that's a good question. First, tell me more about your setup.
What version of AmigaDOS are you using. What other programs are you
running? What error messages (if any) do you get?
I use BackTalk daily…and get no lockups….but I've got a 4 Meg RAM
system. I have tested it on a 2 Meg system and likewise…it works fine
for me.
Oh…one thing…make sure you're using a 7 (or more) wire serial
cable.
