#Terminus 2.0a bug solved
4 messages in this thread
I think I've solved the problem a few users (including myself!) have
experienced with Terminus 2.0a.
I downloaded the complete Terminus 2.0a archive from Jack's support BBS and
installed it from scratch. To my surprise, when I called a board that I'd been
having trouble downloading files from, it worked perfectly – just like the
original 2.0 version.
I compared the phonebook of my original 2.0 Terminus to the 2.0a phonebook I
created. The only difference was the 2.0 phonebook had this entry for nearly
every board I call – "WINDOWSIZE = 64".
When I removed the "WINDOWSIZE = 64" entries from my phonebook file, downloads
(Zmodem and CIS B+) started working again!
The "WINDOWSIZE = 64" entry didn't seem to effect the original 2.0 Terminus.
Jack, what changed in 2.0a to cause this problem?
Tim,
This is quite interesting, and weird.
WINDOWSIZE refers to a parameter with ZMODEM that causes it to act like
XMODEM by requiring the receiver to ACK every xK of data depending on the
size of the window.
This was broke in 2.0 and I fixed it for 2.0a, why it would cause others
to break is beyond me though at the moment. I'm going to have to do some
tests and see what's going on here.

Ah ha!! Nice work Tim! I bet that's the ticket!

Great Tim, I think I will try that myself.
