#Chinon CDX431

Advice sought:
I am using a Chinon CDX-431 CD-ROM player on my A2500, using the external
connection of the 2091 controller. It works well enough with the Xetec
software, except that it seems to be randomly screwing up the partitions
of my hard drive. I start to get read/write error messages on a partition
or it simply freezes with the hard disk access light permanently on. There
are six dip switches on the back of the CD-ROM, up is 1, down is 0.
Unfortunately, I do not have the manual for the Chinon. Could somebody
tell me what the dip switches do? The answer to my problem might lie
there.

From the left (when looking at the rear of the drive):
Parity (set to 0, down)
SCSI ID (1=4)
SCSI ID (1=2)
SCSI ID (1=1)
Not Used (Set to 0, down)
Termination (1=off, 0=on) <— Not this seems logically backward but this
is the way it is!

Many thanks! I think that last one -Termination- might be the answer to my
problem. It was set to 1=off so I shall try it the other way.
