Updating A2500
1 messages in this thread
I have an A2500 that I need to update; specifically, I want to put WB2 and
my SCSI drive into it. As I received it, it looks like this:
Rev. 6 motherboard (1988)
Rodime 3055 HD
HD Controller GX B-VO 8752
with ROM at back numbered 390230-03 2090A 2FEF
ROMs at front numbered 315098-01 2090 AB5C and 315097-01 2090 D32B
I presume that the connector at the back (labeled CN2) is a SCSI connector
although it's not keyed.
AT BridgeBoard
1M chip
2M fast
WB1.3
1.3 KS ROM
The Rodime is in the df1: bay so I'll probably take that out. The 5" bay,
of course, has a 1.2M floppy for the BB.
Now if I understand things correctly, I need to change the ROM revision on
the 2090A (or those designated above _are_ the updated ones, dunno). At
that point, I can install the 2.0 ROM and the SCSI drive. Is that correct?
Are they any other concerns lying in wait for me?
On another point, I bought the PC Link for my Casio BOSS, figuring I could
use it with the BB. However, in PCPrefs the serial port gadget is ghosted.
Is there a way to use the 2500's serial port via the BB?
