Hi all. What's the score with 3DS work in the UK? Is there much happeneing? I've got a guy here who is curious about the possabilities of working over there in the "animation for television" side of things. Thanks in advance.. Glenn 4Di.

We've just done a little thing for the BBC – 5mins in a magazine programme – 3DS is still a little new over here and were having to work hard to get things moving. I think the problem is that because all our TV is effectively networked, budjets are still high enough to afford SGI if graphics are needed. There is a lot of stuff done on Harry too…. Our TV Ads are VERY slick, and as yet there are hardly any companies that can compete using 3DS – were trying… One or two companies have done a couple of Intro sequences, – I'd be interested to talk to any skilled US users thinking of coming over – good users here are as rare as … I dont know what! Peter, I was interested to read your info on the UK scene.I am based in Melbourne,Australia and the guy I mentioned would like more info about you and your company.He has had 2 years experience using 3DS in the the video post production field.With about twelve years experience in videotape/telecine operation.He has also worked as a freelane illustrator in and around London for 3 years.His main areas of expertise and interest are animation and design using 3DS and other PC based paint programs.
