UK OK?

Hi all.
What's the score with 3DS work in the UK? Is there much happeneing? I've got a
guy here who is curious about the possabilities of working over there in the
"animation for television" side of things.
Thanks in advance..

We've just done a little thing for the BBC – 5mins in a magazine
programme – 3DS is still a little new over here and were having to
work hard to get things moving. I think the problem is that because
all our TV is effectively networked, budjets are still high enough to
afford SGI if graphics are needed. There is a lot of stuff done on
Harry too…. Our TV Ads are VERY slick, and as yet there are hardly
any companies that can compete using 3DS – were trying… One or two
companies have done a couple of Intro sequences, – I'd be interested
to talk to any skilled US users thinking of coming over – good users
here are as rare as … I dont know what! Hope this helps,
Peter,
I was interested to read your info on the UK scene.I am based in
Melbourne,Australia and the guy I mentioned would like more info
about you and your company. He has had 2 years experience using 3DS
in the the video post production field. With about twelve years
experience in videotape/telecine operation. He has also worked as a
freelane illustrator in and around London for 3 years. His main areas
of expertise and interest are animation and design using 3DS and other
PC based paint programs.
