If 3D Studio were to be ported to another operating system (hypothetically
speaking, of course) would all the IPAS routines need to be rewritten?

The amount of rewriting necessary would depending upon how much of the 3D
Studio user interface code was involved with the app. The underlying core code
wouldn't necessarily have to change much.
