I have an OLE 1.0 app that was ported to MFC using (MFC 1.0) early last year.
Not all of this app is C++ based. In fact, the Ole 1.0 support in it is all
C-based. I am now porting the MFC code from MFC 1.0 to 2.5 and am implementing
support for OLE 2 (within the app/doc/view architecture). I am running into
compatibility problems because part of the product wants ole.h and the new
stuff wants ole2.h (via afxole.h).
Questions:
Is there a natural migration path from C-based OLE 1.0 to MFC OLE 1.0?
If the answer is yes and there are some examples or tech notes, then it seems
the most appropriate path for me is to migrate from C to MFC (2.5) OLE 1.0
support and from there to MFC (2.5) OLE 2.0 support. That seems reasonable.
If, however, the answer is "no, there is no easy path from C to MFC w/OLE 1.0",
then I probably need to cut out my OLE 1.0 implementation and go straight to
OLE 2.0 via MFC 2.5.
Any advice or thoughts would be helpful.
