Morph Problem

Does anyone know of a way to explode the points of an object in a layer of Modeler to conform to the shape of an object in another layer? For instance, I need to create a morph of a box shape into a specific object. I was thinking of trying to take the final object and expanding it outward, into the shape of the box in Modeller, then morphing in reverse to get the desired effect. Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out a simple way to accomplish this. If the objects were less complex, I'd do it by hand. However, one object is an automobile, another is a telephone, and another is a computer workstation. In essence, what I need is a WRAP TO SPHERE macro that will WRAP TO CUBE instead. How 'bout using the warp-to-sphere, then manually flattening the sides out… that shouldn't be too bad, select a volume on the side of the spher, and set the value of all the points to be in the same plane.

Aki, Thanks for the comment. The problem with your suggestion is the sheer number of points. The objects I want to manipulate are very point-heavy (the Porsche, for instance). I see your solution, only it might take awhile. We'll see. Thanks again. Later. S.G. Bailey Chicago

Stephen, Couldn't you just select ALL the points in a narrow volume, and use a stretch value of zero in 1 dimension, centered on the wall of your cube? Granted, you'd have to do eight ops, but that's not so bad. Or have I completely missed the point? Kent Lidke Helo Pilot on AutoPilot

That's what Aki meant when he said to set the value of all of the points on a "side". The Set Val tool takes the place of having to stretch with a zero value. JG

Steve, Try 'Wrap to Sphere', select the points to flatten out using volume, then use QUANTIZE to perfectly place those points in the same plane. That should work, I think? Jerry

Jerry, Thanks. A previous suggestion, using volume and STRETCH to zero on an axis worked beautifully, though when I saw the suggestion I replied as if it was impossible.
