I am trying to use the viewex sample project as a model for one of my
applications. When I run the sample application I get a GP Fault in GDI.EXE at
0001:42B1. Using Code View I determined that the error occurs at line 228 in
inputvw.cpp. The line is ::SendMessage(hWndChild,WM_PRINT,(WPARAM) hdcOut, 0L).
I am unable to trace execution beyond this point. I have talked to your
engineers about this problem and they could not reproduce it. They were using
PostScript whereas I am using HP PCL4. The actual physical printer is an Apple
LaserWriter II that is configured to look like an HP. It is connected to COM3.
I have no problem printing from other applications (WORD, ACCESS, EXCEL). This
includes graphic controls. I am also able to print using TextOut(). It seems to
me that switching to PostScript will not improve things unless there is
something unique about this sample app. Do you have any suggestions on how I
should proceed?
