Question- when I create an uncompressed tiff 640x 480 still @ 256 colors (8 bit
image) the file size is approx 300K. Now that same image saved as a compressed
tiff or a gif becomes between 10 and 120K depending on image complexity. If I
use the video post to create a 640 x 480 flc file and use the abovementioned
gif file the file size of the resultant flc file reflects the uncompressed file
size. For example creating a three frame flc using a an 8 bit 640 x 480 gif
yields an 800K+ flc. How can I reduce the flc file size without sacrificing
image quality? My ultimate destination is an flc that will fit uncompressed on
a floppy disk.

The problem is that GIF uses LZW compression, which is too expensive for
software-based realtime playback. FLICs use a really brain dead form of delta
compression.
Someone was working on a good delta compression method for encoding FLICs. Does
anybody know if anything ever came of that?
