How do I go about getting a short description list of all the files available
in the users forum?
Does such a thing exist ?

To get a one-line description of the files, the quickest and easiest way
is to go to Library 1 of the forum, open your capture buffer, and type:
DIR SHORT LIB:ALL
If you prefer to have the listings in alphabetical order, rather than by
date of upload, just add *.* to the end of the line above.
This listing will give you the name of the program, its size, library in
which it is located, date uploaded, and about a 40-character description
of the file. Is this what you wanted?
I'd be glad to do this from time to time and upload it if there were
demand for it, but it is so fast to capture it for yourself that I have
not been doing that.

PS:
Do you know any reason why, (after I have loaded 2.1 on to my new 540meg HD and
installed the chip) my Hard Disk "tally light" for lack of a better term, keeps
blinking in a rather syncopated manner?
Is this normal for 2.1 or Is my 2000 the only one which is doing this?
I'm gonna call Quantum…in the meantime.

I don't know of any reason for the light to blink unless something is
causing reads or writes to the disk periodically. It should blink only
when there is disk activity. I'm runninhg 2.1 on a 2500, and mine doesn't
blink.

Hey Betty,
Whew you surprised me… :'o I guess you can appear on any forum.
I called Quantum and they suggested checking my terminator packs on my internal
drives. I think I got confused by GVP's description
in their manual and just terminated the outer devices.
I threw caution to the wind and now I have to go back in again to make the
changes. 'Twas ever thus. Change begets change or to quote an SCCA race driver
friend of mine " You always got to mess with that racy stuff (language
changed to protect the innocents, like me).

Glad it's working now.
Getting the termination right is sometimes difficult with SCSI things. I
usually have to play around with it some, too. And then, there is a
difference between SCSI termination and SCSI termination power! But once
it works, it's so wonderful.
