Mike, when I use showiff24 on my Firecracker in overlay mode, the Amiga display stays on. Is there a command line switch to tell showiff24 to turn off the Amiga while the 24-bit image is being displayed, and restore it when showiff24 quits? I tried various combinations of aon, aoff, boff, and showiff24, and came up empty. P.S. Third time's a charm!!! I finally got Imagine, through regular mail no less. I have no idea what happened the previous two times, which didn't happen this time, but I finally have 3.0 installed on my hard disk. Niiice cover pic; has an Arabian Nights, Magic Lamp, Your Wish Is My Command look to it. Blaq!

Blaq, I heard that there was some problem with the FC24 and IMagine, but I have not tracked it down, when I do, I will let you know. Mike

Mike, ummm no, I didn't say that Imagine 3.0 had problems with my FC24; so far, they seem to get along as well as ever. My problem is with ARexx. I'm trying to create a script to view an IFF24 image on the Firecracker, and 'showiff24' leaves the Amiga layer on. Yes, I know I could switch cables in the back to go into a dual-monitor setup, but I'd have to turn off my Amiga every time, and I don't want to do that. Besides, you guys wrote those nifty 'aon', 'aoff' and 'boff' utilities for a reason, eh? Anyway, the question is open to the floor. Folks, how can I fix the following script? /* Program to make Forge dump current 24 bit preview window to FireCracker 24 */ OPTIONS RESULTS Address "FORGE.1" SHOWSTATUS """Dumping Preview…""" Address "FORGE.1" DUMPPREVIEW "RAM:picprev.iff" IF (rc=0) then DO address "Work:FC24/Light24/showiff24 -p ram:picprev.iff" "delete ram:picprev.iff" Address "FORGE.1" SHOWSTATUS """""" END Blaq!
