#LenFX Object limit??
3 messages in this thread
Hi All,
Has anyone found there is a limit to the number of objects
LenZFX aura can deal with in one pass?
I have a large city with over 150 objects which need a soft
aura around them.
When I select a handful, it renders as expected and is consistent.
When I choose all the objects it becomes very intermittent and
will place an aura over maybe 20% of the objects. On a single frame
I've found it will glow different objects on subsequent tests even
though they all have identical settings. At times it will aura
nothing at all.
I've been through the whole process a number of times, does
anyone have suggestions on FORCING it to work??
In the meantime I've settled with GLOW as a compromise which isn't
as subtle as I need (LenZfx transparency options are wicked!) but is consistent
in its unsubtleness!
Thanks,

A work around for this problem would be to isolate the objects you want to glow
in thescene by turning all other objects into matte objects and the backgound
off, render the new scene with the alpha channel on and split set to yes, and
without LenZFX. Once you have your sequential TGA files go into the video post
and set up the KF scene as the first entry, followed by your sequential TGA's
with ALPHA
in the Alpha column, and lastly, LenZFX in the third slot. Choose Normal Mask
to effect by within LenZFX, and when prompted pick the first frame of your
rendered split alpha channel sequence and replace the 0001.tga with the *
wildcard. This solution isn't the best but it will work.
