As far as the graphical information that is stored, I believe they are basicically the same. the differences lie in the header information that is stored. Anim cels and flics need different header information. For example, in an Anim Cel, you need to know the x,y position of the cel for pasting purposes.

< in an Anim Cel, you need to know the x,y position of the cel for pasting purposes.> Well, that adds to the mistery, since then, the cel require more disk space. Yesterday, I cheched a 1024×768 FLC that required over one meg of disk space. The clipped CEL required 50K less space!

I'm not saying that is the only difference between the files, that just happens one of the differences I know about. I'm sure there are many others, and I have no clue what they are.
