#3D Modeling Textbook

Hi,
My name is John Helton, and I teach full-time at Oklahoma City Community
College. We have a two year degree in CAD, with Autodesk products being taught
in the majority of our courses. I am also one of two ATC instructors at our
campus. I am trying to find a good text book for 3D modeling for our 16 week
credit course. We teach surface modeling, wire frame, solids (what's included
with AutoCAD…was AME…now ASIC) rendering, and some 3D Studio. We have a
seperate class for 3D Studio, it's called Advanced Computer Graphics. I am in
need of a text book for the 3D Modeling Class.

may have more than others on Solid modeling. I used to like "Applying AutoCAD"
by Terry Wohlers, and I have a copy of "Inside R13" from New Riders that looks
OK. There used to be a book on AME, but I don't know if they've updated it for
ACIS. There are several books for 3D Studio also. Have you talked to your local
Autodesk Educational Rep about our Learning Resource Series? That might help
you too. You can find a bunch of book names in the AutoCAD Resource Guide. It
is available from your Autodesk dealer, or you can call 800-964-6432 for a
copy. Then, call the book publishers, and they'll usually send you a free "desk
copy" to evaluate.
