#Vibrant & TARGA+??

HELP!
In 3Ds4 the new Vibrant driver supports a targa card for rendering and flic
playing. Or so its supposed it. I set my rendering mode = Vibrant /
targa+(NTSC) driver and FLIC mode = Vibrant / Targa+(NTSC) mode. I can play a
.FLC but when I play a .FLI the screen gos crazy and from then on I can not
play any FLICs. After this error I can also no longer view still images. When
I try to I get a ERROR 1090: Insufficient Video Memory. I am using a TARGA+
64. For both the Rendering and FLIC configuration I am selecting the VIBRANT /
TARGA+ntsc mode, and then choosing 512×486 interlaced.
Now, I should also point out that when I choose VIBRANT / TARGA+(TMODE) for the
FLIC driver all is well. But I am limited to only the one tmode resolution
(512×486) I would like to be able to have other resolutions avalible. Has
anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone know how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance,

Hi Ken-
What do your autoexec and config.sys files look like? What is your machine's
hardware configuration?
Targa+ boards are tricky to configure as they need 64 K of continuous DOS
memory and will often compete with other peripherals for memory.
My solution to a similar situation was drastic…I pulled all the peripheral
cards out of the computer – leaving just the targa. Then I rem'd out all the
software calls in the Autoexec and config.sys untill I had a vanilla (plain
boot). Then I configured the Targa so it worked OK. Then I starting put
hardware and software back in untill my conflict redeveloped.

I also have had poor luck running flics with the Vibrant/Targa+(NTSC)
drivers. The Vibrant/Targa+(TMODE) work fine.
You actually have some different resolutions available via tconfig or
tmode, but they all cluster around the 512×486 area. As far as I know, you
can't call up, say, 256×243.
I generally don't use my Targa+ for flic playback anymore, as I can do
decent video test renders to my PAR drive, at any frame rate, and get clean
playback.
