I'm getting alot of crashes rendering 3ds4 animations. I guess it's a
display problem, but I'm not sure what to try. Some of the sample
animations that are on the CD Rom always crash it (like the dinosaur
one). Also when I render an animation, unless it's the very first
time after a clean boot, it will crash out. It quits to dos and the
screen is black. It is, however possible to issue commands. If I go
into 3ds and quit again, the screen returns to normal.
I have a #9 64pro card. I've tried several vibrant color depths and
resolutions. Does anyone know what I should do or try??

To see if your problem is video related, you might want to try temporarily
switching to a generic VESA (yucch!) driver for 3DS and seeing if the problem
persists. If so, the next step would be a clean boot and add back in one line
at a time until you find the problem.

I need to have a lot more info for a detailed analysis, but let's start with
the basics.
Switch your graphics card to VESA and let me know what happens, then try a
clean boot if that doesn't work. Sounds like a memory conflict to me.
