For any of us to argue about what is a fair profit or unfair is a stupid and wasteful argument. All I'm saying is that I've seen some huge and, what I would consider, ridiculous profit margins. I don't claim to know it all about the economy. If I did, I would would be on capital hill. Then again, maybe not (grin). Anyway, I chose this field because I love it and no other reason. No matter what anyone says in this thread, I am not bitter obout anything. I've accepted the costs involved in what I do. Obviously or I'd be out of business. I owe a lot to this industry. It has helped me make a very nice living for myself. These things being said, I still contend that many prices are unreasonable and are not justified by operating, advertising, or research & development costs. Who has more of a right to gripe about them than me, the guy who's been paying them for the last six years. The only thing that has angered me during this thread are some of the people who have to shove a point in your face and mix a lot of what-if scenarios in with it, completley straying from the actual numbers of what we're talking about here. I was simply agreeing with another fellow who was a little flustered by the Risc processor scenario as of late. Although, seriously, I'm sure I wouldn't boycott the PC industry. My God, there goes everything I've worked for. I do believe, as consumers, that we should constantly question situations like this and keep the pressure on the manufacturers to keep the market fair and open.
