#Softimagine 3D vs. 3DS
4 messages in this thread
I just started using softimage at work about 2 weeks ago. I have been
and will continue to be a die hard 3dstudio user. Softimage is a very
powerful animation package. It has lots of tools for doing most any
type of animation. 3dstudio has alot of similar tools, its just that
Softimage is more interactive and has many more options. It is a
pretty buggy program Ive noticed. Softimage also supports all the
different types of geometry, (nurbs, polys, bspline, etc.) There is a
pretty high learning curve for Softimage. People say its easy to use
but it takes time to figure out all of its capabilities and how you
use them together.
I know that 3DS is surely more stable and has a better interface than
Softimage. To me, the question is the power worth it? I know this
means that you need the power to create these things, but if you do,
is it a good choice. Also, what kind of manuals does it come with?
It comes with 5 Monster binders. The docs a good. As far as if the
power is worth it? Well the Softimage Demo reel speaks for itself.
Hi, Guy Since nearly 4 years I work with 3Ds and I checked out
Softimage for one week.Indigo Extreme2 and you will get 5 books
tutorial I think.ENOUGH STUFF. When you have Softimage, you are in a
Help Usergroup of others. So if you have a question, –>no big
problem. Its cool to work with Softimage, but I stopped cause I dont
have the money to have one beside my bed, hehe,
