>>My company has three CDROM titles now, and we're about to make a fourth.<<
Even at today's prices, that may not be cost-justification to buy the
equipment. You may wish to consider using a service bureau (such as ours).
That being said, we carry all the CD-Recorders that work, but we recommend the
Philips for it's reliability and compatibility.
>>The discs often contain Unix files, so I'll produce a Rock Ridge- compatible
ISO image file with some software under Linux, working from a hard disk image.
I'll e that ISO image to a CD-R.<<
Good luck if you can get the Yggdrasil software to work properly. If you need
any control over the disc structure you will be stuck spending the $3K on YMI's
Makedisc. Trust me, we tried the cheap way out, too.
>>Can someone point me to a reliable dealer that can FedEx me a CD-R drive and
some blanks ASAP? <<
We have unbeatable pricing on media as well as aggressively priced recorders
and software. Please feel free to call me to go over your specific needs.
