Hello,
I am using WIN3.11, PCI-100MHz 486, 16 MB RAM; MIRAGE P64 2MB videocard and
have some problems with playing FL_ Files. They play 50% and hang with the
comment that aawin produces a general protection-error in module AAPLAY at
address 0001:0244. AAWIN (Released 29.6.92) and AAPLAY (Released 1.12.93) were
installed by VIDEO FOR WINDOWS. What is going wrong?
Would be kind if somebody could help me.
Kind regards,

GPE's are usually the result of a memory conflict. Try rebooting without
loading any of the drivers that are not needed for Windows (i.e. only load
HIMEM.SYS, FILES, and BUFFERS in config.sys and MOUSE in autoexec.bat). See if
the error still occirs, If not, put lines back in one at a time until you see
what two lines conflict.
If it still happens, try starting Windows with some of the command line
switches. (type win /? to see what is available for trouble shooting).
Also, you might want to get DR. Watson turned on to tell you exactly wherre the
conflict is occuring.
