#PVR Use & ?'s
3 messages in this thread
OK,… I've got my PVR and it all seems to work fine, now I have some questions
for the more experienced users of the PVR or the PAR.
Since there is no machine control, there is no way to accurately put a .ANI
file to a tape. What have others done in this situation if you wanted first
generation files on the master edit? This assumes I would have online & online
segments in the same EDL.
In a related question, I have not received my new 4.0a Premiere yet but tech
support at DPS says that you cannot use the Premiere capture routine with the
PVR. This is disappointing since I was hoping I could use the deck control
feature to get accurate SMPTE timecodes on the captured file. When capturing
video, does everyone just kind of eyeball the in/out points, and later trim
them in Premiere or Razor Pro?
Does anyone know if the Razor pro can do deck control and accurate captures
with the PVR?
I've loaded a few frames from 3DS and it appears the gamma setting are not
correct. I have been using 1.8 for output to my Targa+ but the images are much
brighter on the PVR. Has anybody figured out the correct gamma value for the
PVR yet?
Thanks for any suggestions or insights,
Tom
Tom,
As Windows 3.1 is fading fast (enter Windows 95 and Windows NT)
driver writers and application developers have moved their attention
to the new 32 bit operating systems rather than support a flagging
hard to program O/S.
We have put deck control into out Windows NT version of Razor PRO
called Speed Razor. For our full specs check out our WWW site:

Thanks Jamie,
I'll give the site some time. I guess until NT I'm stuck with fat finger
editing 🙁
