#ADESK Party

Has anyone received extra ADESK Party passes?
I didn't receive one this year so I assume it was lost in the mail.
I would appreciate it if anyone is not going to forward one to me otherwise I
will be forced to party on my own that night in LA, Scary thought!
TIA,
Don Landis
Don,
I'm up the coast and mine hasn't arrived yet either. Alot of times I don't see
them until a day or two before I leave for the conference. I have no idea why
Adesk doesn't send them out a month or so before like the rest of the industry.
Paul
Hi Paul,
Looking forward to meeting you this year as we missed you last year.
Things are doing fine here in the video business. I'm full A/B roll betacam SP
now and everything's working fine. I ended up with all UVW decks.
Don
Don,
I'm looking forward to meeting you too. I've been turning down projects to
ensure that nothing interferes with my Siggreaph plans this year! See you in a
week.
Congrats on the Beta setup. I'm anxious to talk to you about your UVW rigs and
how they perform.
Paul
Hey Paul!
I haven't received mine either… do you know the specifics, like day, time
and place?
– Steve Ormonde
Out here on the prairie, there's no sign of the party passes, either…
Hi Don,
<< I will be forced to party on my own that night in LA >>
I don't know why some of you haven't received the passes yet. 🙁
I'll get Kathy Clinton to review this thread.

Jonas,
Just an added note: we're an Autodesk dealer AND registered user &
haven't received our party invites yet.

kevin,
It was probably was that snide crack about vega's.
I had a monza for 8 years and it never told me about it's
cousin trying to eat your foot
Todd
Todd,
That Vega crack was valid. I had a 1973 hatchback model, brand new.
Within the first 100 miles, a shift up into 2nd @ 15 mph (right from the curb),
blew the transmission, and dented the floor under my foot. At 10,000 miles,
the engine blew – well, melted, actually. Chevy insisted I replace the block.
This eventually was attributed to the lack of a coolant recovery system – a
design flaw. I was reimbursed about a year later. Fun car, though – my mom
always wondered how I managed to smash the tail-lights (driving the Mulholland
dirt road & climbing a concrete tread onto hillside construction sites).

Thanks Jonas.
I thought the mail was just doing its black hole thing again. I'm leaving for
CA next Wednesday so I thought I'd better ask. Seems many here are in the same
boat.
Hi Don,
<< Seems many here are in the same boat. >>
Besides working for Adesk, i'm a registered owner also, and I haven't received
mine through the mail either. ;-}
What can I say?
Done,
>> Seems many here are in the same boat.
We're both a dealer and also registered, and haven't seen anything either. But
now, I just saw a message from Kathy Clinton saying NFR copies don't get
invites! I guess that means we have to grovel at the door. <g> (We always
*used* to get invites for these copies.)
John
>>(We always *used* to get invites for these copies.)
Hey! Don't blaim me, I voted for Bush. <BG>
Heck, I'm in San Francisco and I haven't gotten my pass either. I'm going to
call some folks up in San Rafael today and find out exactly _how_ they were
mailed out.
Nobody should worry too much about this. They'll probably show up by next
week, and if they don't, I promise that ya'll will be let in. Just tell them
that 'Yost told me so'!

I'm checking into this thru our Direct Mail department. To the best of my
knowledge, the invitations dropped a couple of weeks ago. They were sent to
all registered 3D Studio customers. Please be aware, that if you have a "not
for resale" copy (evaluation, education, etc.), that you were not sent an
invitation. If you don't get an invitation before you leave for the show,
please bring some type of proof of purchase (not the lock) and we'll let you
(and one guest) in. We realize that there are glitches in the system — not
to worry! Also, if you have NOT registered, now is an excellent time to do so!
Thanks

Well that explains why Gary Yost is not getting an invitation but I've been
registered since release 1.0 and original Animator 1.0. <BG>
I should be getting one at home and two at the office, but I haven't seen
anything yet my-own-self. They'll probably show up "postage-due" on Monday
the 7th! 🙂

Perhaps you should come up with a general system to tell people. Perhaps make
a Xerox copy of their Number 1 disk and dongle and write their name address,
and phone number on it? Not only would you get an easy-to-deal-with consistent
method, but you could enter them into your database after the show and get some
people entered who haven't registered!
Greg Pyros
Greg,
BTW, is anyone invited to your party on Monday. We'll be coming in Saturday
morning and are looking forward to meeting everyone in person.
Also, don't work Lee and Jeff to hard…Good thing you can't sink a bar…<G>

Absolutely not! Only people with a sense of humor and interest in computers
and graphics need apply! :^)

If anyone could, these two could! I'm still trying to get back at them for
last year's post-Siggraph fishing trip, but don't worry, I'll think of
something <insert appropriate demonic laughter here!>
Greg Pyros
Greg,

We'll definately be there.
>>If anyone could, these two could!
You're probably right. I'm surprised Jeff hasn't jumped in already to defend
himself. BTW, Jeff if you're listening, I'll take a dry martini slightly
shaken, not stirred. <RG&D>

Thanks for the update, Kath.

I got _my_ invitation several weeks ago.
I do hate to bring this up but perhaps invitations were sent out to the
Important People first . . . and the rest of you much later. (Sniff, sniff).
Alec Jason
(Just kidding!)

That's what I get for not keeping up with OJ! <g>
-Alan
OK Gary. I'll print your message out for admission. I don't want to get beat
up by those LA cops and be prosecuted by Marcia for crashing the ADESK party.
<G>
Hey Don,
I still haven't recieved mine either, however my parnter got his about a week
ago.
I hope it will get here soon…..

I promise. Nobody will beat you up (IF you show up with that message <g>).

Trenchcoat, Fedora, and the password is "Yost told me so"!
See ya there!
Paul

I hope they show by next week. I leave saturday morning to head to LA, so if I
don't get it by friday, I might have trouble getting in.
Not to worry. Kathy will let you in.
– G
Certainly Tim! I posted this message somewhere else….if you are a
registered customer and did not receive an invite, please bring some type of
proof of purchase (not the lock) and we'll let you and one guest into the
party.
Thanks

I'm in Connecticut, with Autodesk products registered at two locations, and
haven't gotten any either. (Don't panic yet… there is still one week left!)
