I seem to be having some problems with my hard drive. I am hoping you can help me. I backed up all the data with the intent of doing a low level format. The first time I ran the SCSI format, I had to bump the cylinders down to 647 in order to get a successful format. There were 2 bad sectors on the drive. About a month later, I got a read/write error on the third partition. I have partitioned the drive into 3 units; 0-159, 160-319, 320-646. When I went to format the partition with the AmigaDOS format command, the drive hung up at around cyl. 588! I tried this numerous times, and the system just hung! When I decided to do a low level format again, I kept getting an 'error on second format' message. There were still only 2 bad sectors? After much perseverance, I finally got a successful format by gradually bumping the cylinder count down all the way to 635!! However, fastformat works on the third partition, but AmigaDOS still won't go past 588? Any ideas? I have the latest version of your software. I am using harddisk.large and an interleave factor of 3.
