Andrew: The machine that's on my desk is an optimized Pentium PCI system. I would think that any of the PCI systems are new designs that take better advantage of the Pentium and its wider bus architecture. The system I received for review has an SRP of just over $5800. That's with 32MB of RAM, a 540MB hard drive, a 16MB caching controller, a 2MB Diamond Viper PCI graphics board, 17" MAG monitor, 5-1/4" and 3-1/2" floppies, a double-speed CD-ROM, and a CalComp digitizer.
