Erv, OBERON was described briefly in a document circulated by Wirth on the
Nets (APRANet, etc…). If you like, I can mail you a copy (the computer
file I have is a TEX file, so probably I would have to use U.S. Mail).
Anyway, OBERON is a language stripped of everything that PASCAL and M2
users know and love. For example, no enumerated types, no FOR loop and few
other things. On the other hand, the language has a method to extend types
(I can't re-call just now what Wirth calls it). This new feature is similar
to things in C++ and other "object" languages, although it seems more
straight-forward.
Send me some Email if you'd like to see the document…..Richie
