I started this thread but went away on vacation. Can you tell me what has been
going on on the thread? Is there a driver for the DeskJet? How well does it
work with excellence? How can I read the messages that were wiped out in my
absence?

I think that the forum only has a fixed nmber of message slots, once they scrol
l off they are gone, but I think the sysops can give the number. You have to
hope
someone has archived them offline and can send them to you. I would try the HP
LaserJet driver and see what kind of output you get. All HP printers which use
PCL (printer control languages) are supersets or subsets of one another. Color,
like with the PaintJet, would be a problem if using the LJ driver. If the
software uses a PCL feature that your printer doesn't support then the output
will be ruined as the escape code sequence will more than likely print on the
page, ruining it. It the LJ driver fails, try the ThinkJet driver, if you can
find it. It should work, but may limit the output. -Greg
