There are ways around the problem; I've made some major strides in the
last 24 hours! What I am doing now is using an FX printer driver from the
Epstart package with the 1124 set for AGR–alternate graphics mode. Now,
this tends to "shorten" the space on a page by a ninth–the printer acts
like 8 pins while the machine expects nine–but the results are
IW-perfect. SoftStyle probably makes a suitable printer for the 1124, but
the version I got is four years old and 1/4 normal price. I'm hoping that
the SoftStyle people–from Hawaii of all places–will send me the newer
printer drivers as an upgrade.
