I have been working with animation programs since Videoscape 3D came out several years ago. The first thing you need to decide is weather your passion is 2D or 3D. I like 3D and supplement the results with 2D since it is faster. The programs you mentioned are 2D I think. I have VS-3D, and Sculpt Animate 4D. VS-3D is nice but not perfect. I have spent hours trying to get it to work properly. I push the program very hard, so a few problems are expected. The results can be good, especiallysince you can not get them anywhere else. The main problem I have with VS-3D is that it occasionally improperly renders polygons. I mainly use VS-3D to model landscapes and then drive over them. As the camera moves along about 10' above the ground, occasionally VS-3D will render a polygon in the air in front of the camera which ruins the scene. The objects are properly defined ( I checked! believe ME!) but it looks like the camera temporarily dives beneath the ground. Aside from this, Videoscape 3D is a great program. If you want to do 3D modeling, I have yet to see an editor as good as Modeler 3D from Aegis. It is really GREAT. It has saved me MONTHS. Sculp Animate is the ultimate 3D program except for one thing…. it is Soooooo Slowwwwww….. If you have an accelerator then maybe it would be fast enough to be useful. By the way VS 3D does not come in a 68000/68881 version that I know of. Other programs beside SA-4d and VS-3D that I use and like are: Animagic – Aegis Modeler 3d – Aegis Lights! Camera! Action! – Aegis — ( I think I like Aegis! grin ) –Delux Paint 3 – Electronic Arts Delux PhotoLab – Electronic Arts Digi-Paint 3 – New Tech Antic Software Design Disks – Microbot, Architecture
