Using Calligrapher and ColorFonts I can create and use color fonts in DPaint
but the colors are scrambled or incorrect when I use the font in ProWrite. Some
I can adjust, but Prowrite will not change black and white for me. Can I set up
the DPaint palette in a specific order to avoid this problem? I am using 8
colors and high-res. I don't mind specifying black and white in the color font
palette, I just can't seem to get the DPaint and ProWrite palettes to match.
Rob.
ProWrite's color palette is as follows:
0 – Blue 1 – White 2 – Green 3 – Cyan
4 – Yellow 5 – Magenta 6 – Black 7 – Red
There is a reason for the color choices made for the palette (ask me if you are
interested). If you use this palette in making your color fonts then they will
show up in the right color when using ProWrite.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Rob
Well, maybe he won't ask, but I will….what's the reason?
Well, since you asked…
We chose color 0 to be blue, since it was more pleasing for the screen border
color than the only other useful choice (black). Color 1 is white since we
want the menus to be rendered in blue with white background (and if you don't
use colors 0 and 1 for the screen/menu/window foreground and background colors
then the check marknext tomenu items will come out looking terrible). Color 6
(the inverse of color 1) was chosen to be black so that when white (color 1) is
inverted then it will invert to black. Color 7 was chosen to be red so that an
inverted blue (color 0) will be red (which is more pleasing than yellow). The
remaining colors (2, 3, 4, 5) were non-critical in their assignment.
Thus showing that we have reasons for just about everything we do in ProWrite,
even the minute details.
