#Suggestions for future
2 messages in this thread
Thinking ahead I'd like to get a hard drive. I don't know if I should get
a hard card now or hold out for a GVP accelerator card with a hard drive
for about $1200. I'm going to college right now, but I'm thinking that
maybe the future might require more speeds for certain applications. Any
ideas would be appreciated!
By the way, how much is the new Commodore 1950 monitor and does it come in
stereo?
Thanks
I was considering a GVP A3001 too but added up the cost of that and a
flicker fixer and came up with more than a new A3000, after the recovered
money from selling my A2000 was factored in. The A3000 has more goodies to
boot, like the new chip set, 32bit buss 2.0 dos and built in hard drive. I
see the price of the A3001 is dropping so it may be cost effective to go
that route by the time you are ready to upgrade. As for the 1950 monitor,
no, it does not have any speakers in it at all. If you use the Student
discount program that CBM is offering you can get a A3000/25mhz-50 meg hd
with A1950 monitor and AmigaVision authoring program for $3039. The monitor
alone would be $519, you save about $100 if you get the package deal over
single units.
