I'm looking for a utility which will convert IFF ILBM picture files to an IBM format (TIFF, PCX, or MSP). Is there something of that nature on this board? Thanks much.

The commercial products that will convert Amiga IFF to IBM formats include Hijaak and Deluxe Paint (MS-DOS version) for the PC, and The Art Department for the Amiga. An indirect approach is to convert the IFF to GIF, and the GIF to TIFF, PCX, or MSP. Freely-redistributable utilities exist that will do this, but the one's I know about require an Amiga to handle the IFF to GIF part and a PClone to handle the GIF to TIFF/PCX/MSP part. You can scan through the Amiga-to-GIF utilities over in AmigaArts. Is this a one-off, or something you'll be doing repeatedly?

I just reviewed Data Library 9 in AmigaArts and found AMGIF.LZH, February 1990 vintage, that will convert all Amiga formats to GIF including extra halfbright. It runs on an Amiga.

Kevin, I'm not sure whether we have a utility to covert TO TIFF, etc., but I know there are several that will convert FROM those to IFF. That kind of utility would be in Library 9 of AmigaArts. Look through – you will probably find something there. ……Betty
