#Baud rate

Hi. I guess I'm doing OK with Whap! for a VERY part-time user, but I have a
question: I can't seem to connect with CIS at 2400. I've never done so with
my bare-bones terminal anyway. (Online!… the prehistoric edition) So I
begin to think that CIS doesn't go to 2400. Not for me, anyway. I wish
Online! were as well-written and intuitive as Whap! I am using an Amiga
1000, with a microbotics Starboard 1Meg and a hard drive. I've been just
experimenting with Whap! on floppy in df1: and I have written
dh0:terminals/online on the Whap! paramaters screen. Maybe I should finish
installing Whap on my dh0:.. maybe I have a problem with my Online! telling
the system to work at 1200 baud. Should I try Whap! without Online, using
only Whapterm? If so, should I configure the opening screen Terminal string
box for Whapterm? Any suggestion appreciated… Dave Stone
You have to call a 2400 baud node. GO PHONES to find the 2400 number in
your area.
Dave,
Are you sure you are calling one of the 2400 baud nodes? CIS has some
nodes that can handle only 300/1200 baud and others that can do
300/1200/2400. If you are not sure, you can GO PHONES and check that one
out. It will give you the speed there.
