#PM4.0 Request — declared parent_msg_num=(none), resolved parent_id points to #(none)
I have a feature request for Pagemaker 4.0. When Aldus send the update, how
about in a real box. My Pagemaker 4.0 upgrade will NOT fit the old
heavy-duty Pagemaker I have been using for the various upgrades since I
made the original purchase.
In fact, as I remember, Aldus (or someone) made a big deal about the new
design of the Pagemaker package. Well, tonight I was cleaning up my office
and wanted to put the new Pagemaker in the old box. Guess what: I DOESN'T
FIT. Now I have to store the various books and papers of Pagemaker 4.0 in
the crummy box the upgrades came in.
Hey, this is a serious complaint!

JR,
About the problem with PM 4 manuals not fitting in old boxes: a lot of
people have been steamed about this one, since the upgrade box is so
flimsy. I've seen other messages left here about it, some demanding new
boxes. I'm not sure how the spotted owls around here would feel about that,
but thought you should know.
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks for caring enough to mention it. <can't fix anything you don't know
is broken> I sent your first messagew up to the marketing and package
design folks.

Gee, I'm glad someone *else* feels this way! Thought *I* was the only one
that this bothered!!!
(Nice patronizing little reply we got, wasn't it?)
Unfortunately, Aldus is not the only one who operates in this fashion.
Many other software publishers seem to also feel that established customers
are worth less than new ones. In many instances, this seems to apply to
Technical Support as well.
…..sad!
